A selection of some work I’ve done recently, to demonstrate the breadth of what I do. In respect of my client’s privacy, I’ve anonymized some small details about the projects. Technology, role, and scope information is accurate. In general, they each involved a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks of work.

  • mentored a talented “recent graduate” development team at an ambitious mobile startup.
  • proposed a new high-performance architecture for their key Swift/iOS media components.
  • patched an issue in a security product for macOS.
  • helped an entrepreneur compare development bids for their iOS/Android educational app.
  • fixed the Objective-C and C (kernel) driver for a mouse that wasn’t working on recent versions of macOS.
  • developed and analyzed a Python/Flask-based technical proof of concept for opt-in location reporting without an app.
  • reviewed the code for a custom PHP/Laravel-based lead collection tool.
  • updated a mobile app for new device/OS capabilities and screen dimensions.
  • supported a team of entrepreneurs by regularly monitoring and interfacing with their off-shore/overseas development vendor.
  • completed a HTML/JavaScript web client for a social media startup when their front-end developer quit right before a planned launch.
  • wrote a custom PHP/Wordpress plugin for a regional retailer.
  • fixed a failing Python/Django-basaed module for a retaurant.
  • implemented an extensible Python-based architecture for scraping and analyzing website data in high-volume.
  • prototyped a custom onscreen keyboard for a industry-leading brand’s Android-based sport cameras
  • enhanced an existing Ruby-based code generator to produce Swift, Go, C, and node.js apps
  • wrote a custom Internet of Things (IoT) web service endpoint in C.
  • reviewed the code for an in-progress Objective-C and Swift iOS app.
  • advised an entrepreneur on the tradeoffs between and differential suitability of Unity, React, and pure native development for their mult-platform mobile app
  • ported a successful Objective-C/iOS specialty music effects application to Java/C/Android
  • added new features to a data-driven Python/Turbogears-based mobile and web app generator
